Experiment (1) Half-Wave Rectifier
Objective: 1. Recognition of a half-wave rectified sinusoid. 2. Understanding of the effect of a reservoir capacitor upon the rectified waveform. Procedure:
10 K
1. Connect the circuit as shown in figure "without a capacitor". 2. Adjust the input from the function generator to be sinusoidal wave with frequency 1 KHz and amplitude of 10 volts. 3. Observe the output waveform on the oscilloscope. 4. Connect a capacitor to the circuit as shown below. Note your time constant according to the R and C values that you use. 5. Observe the output wave form on the oscilloscope. Change the frequency of the input and write your comment.

Experiment (2) Full-Wave Rectifier
Objective: To study full-wave rectification. Procedure: 1. Connect the circuit as shown in figure "without the capacitor". Take the same values of the input wave, R and C as experiment 1. 2. Observe and sketch the output waveform from the oscilloscope. 3. Connect a smoothing capacitor to the full wave rectifying circuit, Observe the output wave form.
