A. Les articles indfinis

The name of a person, place, or thing is a noun. In French, every noun has a gender, either masculine or feminine. Many words that accompany nouns can indicate their gender in French. They are called gender markers. An article is such a word. The French words une and un are indefinite articles. They correspond to a or an in English.
