Expressing Negatives in Spanish

In English, to make a sentence negative we use the word not. To make a sentence negative in Spanish, we usually put no in front of the verb. No me gusta escribir libros. books. No hablo espaol. Spanish. I dont like to write I dont speak

To answer a question negatively in Spanish, you often use no twice which makes sense. The first no answers the question. The second no says I do not (dont). See my example below: Do you have any money? money. Te gusta bailar en la escuela? la escuela. No, I dont have any No, no me gusta bailar en

In Spanish, you may use one or more negative words to express a negative statement. Te gusta ir a la escuela? a la escuela! No, no me gusta nada ir

If you want to say that you dont like either choices, invite nini to the party. See my example below: No me gusta ni hablar por telfono ni dibujar en la clase de arte. I dont like either talking on the phone or drawing in Art class. I like neither talking on the phone nor drawing in Art class. EXTRA INFO: In Spanish, you may also start or end a sentence with negative word likes tampoco or nunca. Tampoco me gusta cantar. OR No me gusta cantar tampoco. (I dont like to sing either.)

Nunca me gusta cantar. OR No me gusta cantar nunca. (I never like to sing.)
