Measureing Pressure Drop: How and When To Change Filters

The document discusses how and when to change air filters based on pressure drop measurements using a differential pressure gauge or magnehelic gauge. It provides guidelines that filters should generally be changed when the pressure drop reaches 2 to 2.5 times the initial clean pressure drop and notes not to exceed the maximum allowable pressure drop for the specific filter type.

OPERATION I Record clean pressure drop ____Pa. on the service label, (see page 2). II Good Rule of Thumb is to change at 2 to 2.5 times the initial clean pressure drop. For example; Filter clean at 50Pa - Change at 100 to 125PA III Do not exceed maxium allowable pressure drop for the type of filter see technical data for the particular filter involved.
