Nova Scotia Community College Video design and animation July 2013 to present. Responsible to create an animated advertisement to show the various opportunities available at the Community College. Required to attend creative and progress meetings and meet deadlines. Heat Theatre Video Designer April thru June 2013 Responsible to design original animated video and visual effects for projection during specific scenes of the production Kill Zone-A Love Story. The video and visual effects worked as part of the set to establish the mood and tone of the scene. Required to attend progress meetings and meet deadlines. Responsible to design original animated and still video projected for specific scenes as part of the set for the production Elf. Delivered professional quality video as required in a timely fashion. Participated in creative team meetings and required to meet deadlines. Theatre Antigonish - Assistant Stage Manager for One Act Play Festivals -March 2005 and 2006 Responsible to ensure the backstage area was operating smoothly during performances. Also received direction via head set from Production Director in control booth during productions to ensure actors were ready for their cues. Responsible for props being in their proper place for each scene. Responsible for making sure the back stage activities were happening as rehearsed, without problems or delay. Theatre Antigonish - Follow Spot Operator - Aug and Nov 2004, July 2005 Working under both the Production Director and the Lighting Director, responsible to attend rehearsals, learn and deliver the lighting plan for various main stage productions including Stepping Out, November 2004; Oliver, August 2005; and The Wizard of Oz, July 2005. Work included using the follow spot light to highlight characters throughout the production and provide special lighting effects on cue. Theatre Antigonish - Technician - July and November 2006 Worked as part of the Technical Team setting up for Stage 2, a new smaller venue stage on ST. FXU campus. Set up over head lighting, and follow spot lights; designed and produced props for main stage production. Implemented the lighting design plan using the lighting board during main stage production The Hobbit, July 2006 and Suessical the Musical, November 2006. Responsible to deliver varying levels and types of lighting during the play as designed by the Lighting Director.
Walmart - Store Standards - August 2007 - June 2008 Helpful to customers, collect shopping carts from corrals and return to store; clean up spills, maintain cleanliness of store including bathrooms, assist customers to carry heavy items to their car; restocking and set up displays.
Projects
Techsploration/ Women in the Trades: Member of project team through NSCC, that created an advertisement with a series of videos using flash that highlighted women working in the trades as a career. As a team we developed an original concept that met the needs of Techsploration, and did the asset design. I also contributed Flash animation of scenes and compiling for this project. Cyber Cop: Member of project team through NSCC, that created a video for the Truro Police Force to introduce the Cyber Cop program, intended for young children ages 5 to 9 years. Cyber cop is a program that educates youth on internet safety and cyber bullying. Work included designing the concept art, filming the scenes, post production addition of futuristic visual effects in keeping with the concept of the video and compositing. Safety Video: Commissioned to film a safety video for the Windsor Salt Mines. Focused on customer satisfaction while designing appropriate lighting and filming scenes on location as requested by film director. Also participated in project as an actor. This project came about as the director for the Salt Mine Video was the same director I worked with for the Cyber Cop video. As a customer he was very satisfied with the work done on the Cyber Cop project and came back to offer the Salt Mine Video work.
