1)

40000

2)

60000

3)

56900

4)

85000

Question 2 of 60
The dimensions of a certain machine are 48\" X 30\" X 52\". If the size of the machine is increased proportionately until the sum of its dimensions equals 156\", what will be the increase in the shortest side?

1)

6"

2)

8"

3)

10"

4)

11"

Solution Key
Sides are in the ratio 24:15:26 At present sum of sides is 130 If sum of sides are increased to 156 totally the sum increases by 26 But given sides should be increased proportionally i.e. 24x+15x+26x =26 or x=0.4 Therefore smallest side increases by 0.4*15= 6

Question 3 of 60
There are 6561 balls out of them 1 is heavy. Find the min. no. of times the balls have to be weighed for finding out the heavy ball.

1)

2)

3)

4)

Solution Key
Weigh 1/3 of the number of balls against another 1/3. If they are equal, the heavy ball is in the 1/3 that you didn't weigh. Each weighing eliminates 2/3 of the number of balls. 6561 = 3*8 so you need 8 weightings.
