The document describes a proposed strengthening project for Lot 30 Shah Alam for Digi Elecommunications Sdn Bhd in Malaysia. Testing found the concrete in the slabs and beams was understrength and deteriorated, with structural cracks present. To solve this, the slabs and beams were assessed and tested before being strengthened externally with carbon fiber reinforced polymer laminate to increase bending moment capacity and carbon fiber wrapping to increase shear capacity.

PROJECT TITLE: PROPOSED STRENGTHENING WORKS TO LOT 30 SHAH ALAM FOR DIGI ELECOMMUNICATIONS SDN BHD

Nature of Problem Strengthening to the RC slabs and beams was required due to under strength and deteriorated concrete. Structural cracks were found on the beams and slabs. The Solution Assessment and testing works were carried out prior to the strengthening works. The slabs and beams were strengthened using externally bonded Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) Laminate to increase the bending moment capacity and Carbon Fibre Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) wrap to increase the shear capacity.
