Practical 5

The document outlines the design and implementation of an integrator circuit using an op-amp IC 741 to achieve a desired cut-off frequency. The theory explains that an integrator circuit produces an output voltage that is the integral of the input voltage by replacing the feedback resistor of an inverting op-amp with a capacitor. The procedure describes applying different input waveforms to test the frequency response and observe the output.

5. INTEGRATOR CIRCUIT

Aim: To design & implement a Practical Integrator circuit for given cut-off
frequency using IC 741.
Apparatus: IC-741, bread board, power supply, function generator, resister, capacitor of
desire value, connecting wires etc.
Theory: A circuit in which the o/p voltage waveform is the integral of the input voltage
waveform is the integrator or the integration amplifier. Such a circuit is
obtained by using a basic inverting amplifier if the feedback resistor R
f
is
replaced by a capacitor C
f.

Design:

Procedure: 1. Connect the circuit as shown in circuit diagram.
2. Apply sine wave as input to the circuit from function generator and obtain
the frequency response by varying the Input frequency and keeping
amplitude fixed.
3. Plot frequency response for integrator circuit.
4. Apply square, sine and triangular wave as input to the circuit and observe
change in the output at different frequency.
Observation: 1)Frequency response for integrator:

Input Voltage Vi = ____________ V (p-p)
S. No. Frequency
F (Hz)

A = 20log(Vo/Vi)
