Objectives: At the end of the lesson the students will be able to: a. Identify vowels from the alphabet. b. differentiate vowels from consonants. c. cooperate in the group work that identify vowels in the word. II. Subject Matter: A. Topic: Recognizing Vowels B: Reference: Word Gamers Aid/ Aide C: Materials: Flash Cards, Pictures, Video presentations. Key Concept to be taught in the lesson:
Recognizing and distinguishing vowels from consonants is an important step in the development of reading and writing skills since all words and all syllables in words contain at least one vowel. Once students recognize the 5 vowels in the alphabet they will be able to recognize vowels in the words.

1. Vowels ( A, E, I, O, U ) 2. Consonants III. Teaching Learning Procedures: A. Preparatory Activity 1. Prayer 2. Checking attendance 3. Reminders IV. Motivation 1. Together with the students, the teacher will give a song entitled The Alphabet. 2. The teacher will ask the following questions: a. what do you think our lesson for today? b. can you give me examples of a vowels? c. what words do you know that contains vowels? V. Lesson Proper The Vowels: 1. A found in ant, and apple. 2. E found in elbow, eggplant.

3. I - found in Ill, inch, 4. O - found in off , octopus. 5. U - found in Uncle , Umbrella.

VI. Evaluation/Assessment/ Application The students will correctly read all the vowels without assistance. V. Assignment. The students will give 5 words and encircle the vowels in the words. VI. Closure of the lesson Vowels are important, almost all words and syllables contains at least one vowel.
