A business organization is a system comprised of interrelated sub-systems like production, marketing, finance, personnel, research and development, and legal/management that work together to satisfy society's needs through the production and distribution of goods and services for profit. The business system takes various inputs from the external environment like labor, materials, technology, and information and transforms them through managerial processes to produce outputs of goods and services for society.
