Lindseys Letter
SRIPlease look for your childs SRI score that should be in their binder. These scores help us learn about your child as a reader. Please look over these scores with your child and discuss how they feel about reading. Scores should be between 650 to 700 at this point in the year. For students who are above 750, I am not requiring that read out loud each night. Students who are below a 750 should be reading 100 minutes each week out loud to help improve fluency and comprehension. Grandparents Day When: September 16th 9:00-9:50 What: I would love for the students to make something with their grandparents. I would like you to send in heart shaped cookie cutters for us to use that day. Please start sending these in as soon as possible so I can make sure we have everything we need to complete this activity on this special day. MAP Scores Youll find a packet that includes your childs MAP scores, from last year, in their binders today. Please let me know if you have questions. Multiplication Facts We completed another Fast Fact Friday activity today. This is a five minute multiplication speed test. Students who are not getting an 80%, or higher, will be bringing the page home to correct and return. Please encourage your child to be practicing multiplication skills nightly until they are fluently mastered. Reading Logs Reading logs will be checked on Monday. Please make sure that you look over the log with your child and sign to show they read their 100 minutes for the week. Grades I am planning to have grades entered into Power School sometime this evening. Please check this weekend for grades. I will try each Friday to update grades.
