Tybee Permission Slip 2013 2014

August 26, 2013 Dear Parents, Team 6D is excited to announce something that has been in the works for
a while Were going on a field trip! This is not just any field trip, either! We have been given the opportunity to go to Burton 4H Center on Tybee Island and SPEND THE NIGHT! The dates for the trip are February 10-12, 2014. Burton 4H Center offers several different classes that align to the Common Core and the AKS, and our students will get to experience something like they have never experienced before. Students will stay in refurbished dorms and have a camp style experience. The cost of the field trip is $200. This includes transportation, accommodations for the evening, seven meals (lunch and dinner on the first day, all meals the second day, and breakfast and lunch the third), a commemorative t-shirt, and an incredible experience full of classes led by both the Burton 4H staff and RMS teachers. In order to make this sum manageable, please see the payment plan on the next page. RMS accepts cash or check payments made out to RMS. Students with disciplinary concerns may not be allowed to participate in the field trip and will be given an alternate assignment to complete in place of the field trip. Teachers and administrators reserve the right to hold students back from the trip based on behavior. We do not anticipate needing to exercise the right to hold back students due to behavior, however if this becomes necessary please understand the cost of the trip is nonrefundable. The cost of the trip is based on the number of students attending, and RMS is responsible for paying for the complete reservation. If a student is unable to attend due to illness, a partial refund may be available, but there is no guarantee. We are looking for chaperones especially MALES for the boys dorms. Please note that chaperone spaces are limited and require the chaperone to pay the same fees as the student. Please indicate your interest on the permission slip on the following page and return it to Ms. Shaver as soon as possible.
