Code 69

NetBackup backups of Lotus Notes databases on Windows clients fail with a status code 69 error when using the ALL_LOTUS_DATABASES directive. This directive is only supported for Unix and Linux clients. For Windows, the path to the Domino Data Directory must be specified instead to successfully back up Lotus Notes databases. This path is located in the notes.ini file on the Domino server.

Problem

NetBackup for Lotus Notes database agent backup fails with Status Code 69 (invalid filelist specification) when the ALL_LOTUS_DATABASES directive is used in the Backup Selections List

Error

invalid filelist specification <16> dos_backup::tfs_scanstart: ERR - ALL LOTUS_DATABASES is not a supported file list directive!

Solution

The ALL_LOTUS_DATABASES directive is only supported when backing up Unix and Linux clients with the Lotus-Notes policy type. If used with Windows clients, the backup will fail with Status Code 69 (invalid filelist specification). For Lotus-Notes backups of Windows clients, the path to the Domino Data Directory must be specified in the Backup Selections list to avoid the Status Code 69 failure. The correct path to the Domino Data Directory is identified by the Directory setting in the Domino Server's notes.ini file.
