3. The Earth blocks the sunlight from reaching the Moon. 4. The Earths shadow will cover the Moons surface and causes a lunar eclipse. 5. The eclipse of the Moon can be observed with the naked eye. 6. It can only be observed by people on the side of the Earth which is having nighttime.
7. An eclipse of the Moon can only occur at the phase of full moon. 8. When the Earth blocks sunlight, it produces a shadow with two parts: i) the lighter part / penumbra - where the Earth partly blocks the sunlight (partial eclipse) gerhana separa ii) the dark part / umbra - where the Earth totally block the sunlight (total eclipse) gerhana

9. The eclipse of the Moon can last for more than an hour. The Moon looks reddish, dark grey and brown (depend on the amount of dust in the Earths atmosphere during the eclipse).

During the total eclipse of the Sun, all we can see from the Earth is a ring of light around the Moon call corona.
8. The total eclipse of the Sun is very brief. It last for only a few minutes. 9. During the eclipse of the Sun, the sky gets darker and darker until eventually it becomes completely dark during the day. 10. After that the sky will gradually get brighter and brighter until it appears as usual again. 11. It is dangerous to look at a solar eclipse directly.
