Problems: 1) A 10Ghz Radar Has Fallowing Characteristics:: Solution: Given F 10Ghz

The document contains solutions to three radar problems. The first calculates the maximum detection range of a target as 300km. The second finds the maximum range as 387 nautical miles (717.654km). The third calculates the radar cross section of a target as 34.45 square meters.

Problems: 1] A 10GHz Radar has fallowing characteristics: Peak transmission power = 250KW, Power gain of antenna = 2500,Minimum detectable

peak signal power by receiver = 10^-14 Watt, Cross-sectional area of the radar antenna = 10 sq.m.,If radar were to be used to detect a target of 2 sq.m. equivalent cross section find the max. range possible .
Solution: Given f=10GHz, We know that =250 KW, G=2500, , =, w, =10 , ,

=300KM

2] Calculate the maximum range of a radar system which operates at 3cm with a peak pulse power of 600KW if its minimum receivable power is 10 -13W, the capture area of its antenna is 5 m2 and the radar cross sectional area of the target is 20m2
Solution: Given =3cm, We know that =600 KW, =, w, =5 , ,

Note: Kilo meters expressed in terms of nmi(nautical mile) 717.654/1.854=387 nmi (1nmi=1.854KM)

3] A radar transmitter operates at 10 GHz and transmits 250 KW of peak pulse power. If the antenna used by the transmitter and the receiver has a gain of 4000 and the power received from a target at 50 KM is 10-11watts what is the radar cross section of the target?
Solution: Given f=10GHz, We know that =250 KW, G=4000, ,
