Required in case analyzer contains toxic materials, e.g., Beryllium windows in x-ray analyzers. Required for safe handling and operation of radioactive/ionizing sources which are used in, e.g., x-ray absorption analyzers. Ensures containment of process sample. Ensures analyzer is correctly certified and safe to operate in electrically classified areas. Specifies minimum performance requirements for process stream analyzers. Performance specifications are not available in Industry Standards. Ensures flame type detectors in gas chromatographs cannot be a source of ignition for external flammable vapors. Avoids any potential hydrocarbon or toxic gas release on start-up of the analyzer. Ensures minimum information required to safely install and operate the analyzer is displayed on the analyzer.
