Low Power Gated Crystal Oscillator

This circuit diagram shows a low power gated crystal oscillator that uses a 4081B gate IC to control the flow of current from a 32.768kHz crystal oscillator. When a gate signal is applied, it allows current from the crystal and two PN2222 transistors to flow through and output an oscillating signal. The circuit draws only 1.2uA of standby current and was designed by Dave Johnson of David Johnson Associates.
