Ahmed Ragheb __________________________________________________________________________________ Assignment 1 1. Assuming ideal diodes, find the voltage and current in each diode for the circuits shown below.

2. Using the behaviour of VA and VB versus time given below, sketch VOUT(t) for the circuit below. VDON = 0.7V.

3. Consider the circuit on the right. What is the value of the resistance R that will make the output voltage Vo = 0.65 V, the three diodes identical and Vd = 0.7 at 1 mA. Use the exponential model for the diodes with n = 1 and VT = 25 mV.

4. Use load-line analysis to determine the operating point (Q point: VQ, IQ) of the diodes in the circuit. The diode has the characteristic curve shown.

5. For the circuit shown below assume ideal diodes. (a) Sketch the transfer function between Vo and Vi. (b) Sketch Vo versus time if Vi is a sine wave of frequency 1kHz and amplitude 10V.
