Overseas Citizenship of India

Overseas Citizenship of India is a perfect example of where one of the demands of the Indian Diaspora was answered. During the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention held in 2006 in Hyderabad the OCI was launched. The OCI is the response to the demands for Dual Citizenship. Although it is not a Dual Citizenship it is the closest scheme which the Indian Government has been able to offer.

Importance of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

Being involved with PBD keeps one abreast and in the loop with the current affairs in India and the Indian Diaspora Community. It gives one the opportunity to connect with key individuals who share a vision of Indias progression and its people at home and abroad.
