    HISTORY
    Candelaria mine was discovered in 1987 as a copper,gold and oxyde iron deposit, Primary sulfide mineralization consists of chalcopyrite. Candelaria mine has an opencast and underground area. the open-pit copper mine has been in operation since 1993.

    LOCATION
    Is it located Approximately 22 km south of Copiap(Tierra amarilla), in northern Chile's Atacama province. It also has a port facility, Punta Padrones, located in Caldera, approximately 80 KM northwest of the mine.

    PRODUCTION
    Candelaria mine produced 6000 mtd of concetrate The Candelaria operation includes a 75,000 mtd concentrator and a mill.

    ENVIRONMENT
    This mine is leader in water conservation,recovery and recycling in all its processes.It became the first mining in the world to certify all of its facilities under ISO 14001 norm To supply water to the mine ,Candelaria created a pipeline to bring water from a closer treatmen plant.

    MARKET
    The 70% of the product of Candelaria is sent to Asia, specifically to China and Japan.
    Also is sent to north america,USA.

    ECONOMIC EFFECTS
    As a contribution to the community Candelaria created different types of workshop. The Minera Candelaria Company offers to the personal of the company a lots of workshops. This workshop are very important for the comunnity because it allows staff to deliver other recreational activities.

    Workshops provide an opportunity enables workers and their families , also contributes to the community the opportunity to learn different tip of workshop. The workshops that Candelaria Company have are cooking, driving, seamstress.
