Learning Target: Identify the terminologies given. Internet is a worldwide collection of networks using modems, telephone lines, and other communication devices and media. World Wide Web is the part of the Internet that supports multimedia and consists of a collection of linked documents. Web pages these are linked documents, or pages of information Web site is a collection of Web pages that are created and maintained by a company, government, school, or an individual. Web server or host it is a computer where web pages are stored, and sends the requested web pages. Hyperlink is used to connect a web page to another web page on the same or different web server HyperText Markup Language / HTML is a computer language widely used for creating web pages. Thus a web page is also called an HTML document. HTML documents have an .html or .htm extension (example: index.html) Tags or Markups A set of special instructions that specify links to other documents, as well as how the page is displayed. HTML tags mark the text to define how it displays when viewed as pages in the World Wide Web. (example <B> bold text, <P> - new paragraph Web browser Is a program that interprets and displays WebPages and enables you to link to other Web pages Internet Explorer / Netscape Navigator / Mozilla Firefox Notepad Text editor To create and edit documents that contains only text.
