Importing CSV files in excel

The software for Single Phase Multifunction Meter produces text files in
csv format.
csv stands for comma separated values. The values of interest are
simply separated by a comma. These values can be imported in excel
and processed further.

Figure1: File path of “abc.txt” specified. Data will be saved every


minute.
Figure2: The file “abc.txt” was created and saved with data on the
specified path. This can be viewed in Textpad, notepad, or wordpad.
To Import the text file on Excel.

Step 1: In MS-excel, go to file-> Open.Select the text file saved by


the software , abc.txt
You will get the following window:

Step2: Select the option “Delimted”. Let other options be at their


default values.
Step3: clicking on next, you get the window shown above. Select
“Comma” as the only delimiter”
Step 4: You can select the fields one by one. Let it be Date for the
first one, and General for all other parameters.
Step5: The file is imported. Next, type in the first line specifying what
each parameter means
Step6: The first line is inserted manually to specify the parameters.
