Whatdoes"unlocking"mean?
ThefirststepinputtinganycustomoperatingsystemonyourXperiaSistounlockthebootloader. Abootloaderistheveryfirstprogramthatrunswhenyouturnonyourdevice.Thebootloader initializessomehardwareandthenloadsthekernelandramdisk,andgetsthebootprocessgoing. Ifthebootloaderisinlockedmode,itwillensurethatonlythestockoperatingsystemcanrun. Sinceyouwillbeinstallingyourownoperatingsystem(CyanogenMod),youneedtoturnthisoff.
