Loop Testing - MCC

This document provides a method statement for testing wiring loops connecting the DCS, ESD, and MCC. The test aims to verify integrity of wiring connections and configurations in the control system. Key steps include preparing check sheets, isolating equipment to avoid running during testing, issuing start and stop commands from DCS and ESD to check indications match on the different systems, and recording results.

1. GENERAL The objective of this test is to prove the integrity of the wiring connection as well as the DCS and TRICONEX configuration. The testing of equipment shall be done from DCS and ESD to MCC. The indication shall be checked on DCS and TRICONEX. The indication from the MCC lamp shall be checked. Record all the results on the approved Loop Check Sheets. 2. LOOP TEST OUTLINE PROCEDURE 1. Prepare Check Sheets including instrument Loop Diagram, P&ID and Electrical wiring diagram. Motor control summary list for Block E & R (OTE0-E0-EL-278604 Rev. 1) 2. The test will be done on the DCS forcing the stop signals either from DCS or the ESD that will prevent the loop to be in normal condition. 3. Isolate the terminal of equipment from the MCC side to avoid the equipment from running during the test since our objective is check the indication of DCS, TRICONIX and MCC. 4. Put the field HOA switch to Auto mode. 5. Issue START command from the DCS or the ESD or simulate the condition by putting jumper wire on MCC terminal block, check the run indication on the MCC. Record the results on the Loop Check Sheets. 6. Check the DCS and TRICONEX indication and record the results on the Loop Check Sheets. 7. Issue STOP command from the DCS or the ESD, check the stop indication on the MCC. Record the results on the Loop Check Sheets. 8. Check the DCS and TRICONEX indication and record the results on the Loop Check Sheets.
