OBSERVATION Are there any obvious areas of infection that might cause work for the Lymphatic System? FUNCTION can you describe the main function of the Lympho-Reticular System? Can you differentiate between Primary and Secondary Lymphoid Organs? Do you know what areas of the body drain into the:a) Right Subclavian Vein via the Right Lymphatic Duct. b) Left Subclavian Vein via the thoracic duct. What major organs are considered part of the lympho-reticular system. What changes might be evident in these in lympho-reticular disease? LYMPH NODES can you describe the location of easily accessible Lymph nodes in the following areas:Head and Neck Clavicular Area Upper Extremity including Axilla Inguinal Area and Lower Extremity Under what circumstances may you notice lymph nodes in the abdomen? What are Sentinel Nodes? What information might be gained from them? EXAMINATION What are you looking for when you examine Lymphatic vessels and Lymph nodes ? When palpating Lymph Nodes what qualities are you assessing? How might you record your findings? What do you consider Red Flag findings in these areas? If you find a lump when examining the axillary region, what might it be other than a lymph node. Are there any areas which require you to obtain specific consent before examining? .
