Story Board Scratch

Final Storyboard Year 3 measurement Scratch project

Spun

Screen 1: Title Page


This is the starting page of the game with a upbeat, catchy music played as soon as the game is opened to hype up the player. For the player to continue to the next page, the yellow button on the lower left hand corner must be pressed.

Screen 2: Homepage
This is the next page. The player will have a choice of clicking to review the measurement or to play the game by clicking on the purple words of choice. These words are sprites that will lead to the specific activity.
If "review measurement" is pressed, Screen 3 will appear If the "play game" button is pressed, Screen 5 will appear

Ness and Good

Screen 3: Review

If the "review measurement" button was pressed, the screen changes to this. The player can press each unit of measurement (each a button) in which transitions to the information on the specific unit (continue to see the different screens). The bubbles will move around or rotate in a way that is interesting.

Every last page of the review of the units will have an arrow that will lead back to this page. The player can then continue to click on another unit.

To go to the next page, the player must click the arrow button on this page.

Screen 3.1a : Review mm


This screen will appear after the "mm" button is pressed. This screen explains the use and example of millimeters. Once the player is done reading, the yellow arrow button must be pressed to continue the review.

Screen 3.2 a: Review mm part 2


The screen will transition to this. It explains the 1mm in the ruler. Pressing the yellow arrow button will lead back to the main page of the review.

Screen 3.1 b: Review cm


If the "cm" button is pressed on the main page of the review, the screen will transition to look like this. This screen is about centimeters, comparing it to 10mm compared with a sprite/picture of a finger. Once the player has finished reading it, the yellow button is pressed to go to the next screen.

Screen 3.2 b: Review cm


This is the next screen where it shows 1 cm compared to mm in a ruler. Once the player finished reading, they are able to click on the arrow to take them back to the main review screen.

Screen 3.1 C: Review m


If the "m" sprite on the main review page is pressed, the screen will change to this. This screen explains meter, its real life examples and comparison to cm. Once the player has finished reading this, they are able to click on the arrow to take them to the next screen on meters.

Screen 3.2 C: Review M


The screen will then change to this, it explains 1 meter on the ruler stick with cm indications. Once the player has finished reading this, they are able to click on the arrow to take them back to the next screen on meters.

Screen 3.1 D: Review KM


If the "km" sprite on the main review page is pressed, the screen will change to this. This screen explains the unit, kilometer, its real life examples and comparison to m. Once the player has finished reading this, they are able to click on the arrow to take them back to main review page.

Screen 4: Overall Review


Once the player has clicked on the units and read them (which leads them back to screen 3: the main review page), the player must press the yellow button which will continue them to screen 4 that is a last review to repeat the different units and its amounts. Once finished, the player is able to press the yellow "okay" button to continue to the next page.

Screen 5: Choose your character


This screen, the participant must choose between 2 characters; a boy or a girl pirate. The participants chosen character will be buttons. Once the character is clicked, the screen will transition to the next.

Screen 6: Choose level


In this screen, the player must choose the level of difficulty according to their knowledge. This screen consists of 3 buttons, easy, medium, hard in which represents the level. Each button has its own color as well as the same brown ship in each button. Each level/ship is a button that will lead to a different screen containing the same game but with different questions which will depend to the level of difficulty chosen.

Screen 7: Introduction
This screen is of the chosen character (boy or girl pirate) explaining the game. The screen will transition to a green background. Firstly, the character, background, yellow "let's go" button will appear then the dialogue would appear along with voice over saying the speech in the dialogue. Right after the speech is done, the player is able to press the yellow button to continue to transition to the next screen.

General Information: Right and Wrong Answers


These are screens that the player will transition to while playing the different games,according if the answer is correct or not.On the left is the correct screen that will appear for 4 seconds while having a clappingsound and then goes to the next screen/game.On the right is the incorrect screen that will appear for 4 seconds while having a buzzing sound and then it returns back to the original games screen.

Screen 8: part 1 jumping character to boat

Above are the different questions that will appear in each orange small box. See the next page for more information.

part 2

In this screen, the player must use the left and right arrows to navigate the chosen character tothe orange dot. Once the character reaches the orange dot, a screen around 1/3 of thescreen will appear with the game as the background and have a question with an answer boxand a submit button to press. If the answer is correct, the box closes, if the answer is wrong,there will be a low beep sound effect with the box shaking for 2 seconds and the answer boxwill be blank for the player to try again. Once the character has completed all of thequestions, the screen will change to the next game.

Screen 9: Maze Game (example question)

In this screen, the button on the last screen will exactly lead to this first game. This game is amaze that the participant must navigate through the maze to the correct answer of thequestion on the top middle of the page (will vary according to level) by using the arrows.(Basically when the 2 sprites overlap each other, then it is indicated that the participant haschosen that answer) If the answer the participant chose is wrong, the wrong screen (in general information) willappear for 4 seconds and return to this page. If it is right, it will lead to the correct screen (in general information) for 4 seconds and lead to the next screen/game

Screen 10: Ruler Game


After screen 9, the player is then automatically brought to this screen. There is a question, answer box, ruler, line measurement indication (will vary according to level) and a submit button that will lead the player to the next page. The player must answer the answer of the question in the answer box provided and press submit to proceed.
If the answer the participant chose is wrong, the wrong screen (in general information) will appear for 4 seconds and return to this page. If it is right, it will lead to the correct screen (in general information) for 4 seconds and lead to the next screen/game automatically.

Screen 11: Q & A


In this screen, there is 1 box for the question, which will vary, the answer box that the player will type their answer in. To submit the answer and proceed to the next screen, the player must click on the check which is the button. If the answer the participant chose is wrong, the wrong screen (in general information) will appear for 4 seconds and return to this page. If it is right, it will lead to the correct screen (in general information) for 4 seconds and lead to the next screen automatically.

Screen 12: Multiple Answer Game


Then it will lead to this screen which is a multiple answer quiz. The questions and answers will be inserted according to the chosen level. There will be 1 answer that is the correct answer and the rest aren't. The 4 answer boxes will be buttons that will lead to separate screens.

If the answer the participant chose is wrong, the wrong screen (in general information) will appear for 4 seconds and return to this page. If it is right, it will lead to the correct screen (in general information) for 4 seconds and lead to the next screen/game automatically.

Screen 13: Pairs Game

The next screen is a game where the participant must pair the measurements with the same amount (e.g 2m and 200cm). The measurements will vary according to level. When the player presses on one answer, the outline will turn into a dark blue color as an indication. Then the player must click on the other answer. If the pair chosen is wrong, the wrong screen (in general information) will appear for 4 seconds and return to this page. If it is right, it will lead to the correct screen (in general information) for 4 seconds and lead back to the same screen but just the correct pairs will have a green check on it to show that the answer is correct. Once all the pairs chosen are all correct, the last correct screen will last 4 seconds and transition into the next screen/game.

Screen 14: Matching Units Game


After the player has choose the correct answer for screen 12, it will lead to this screen. In this screen, it is where the player has to match the picture+question with the correct answer. The picture will change for every level (see picture above). The different units/answers below will be buttons. Whichever the button the player chooses, it will lead them to the right or wrong answer page. See the example above.

If the answer the participant chose is wrong, the wrong screen (in general information) will appear for 4 seconds and return to this page. If it is right, it will lead to the correct screen (in general information) for 4 seconds and lead to the next screen/game automatically.

Screens 15-20 : Repeat of games

There will be the same games (except screen 8: jumping character to boat) in the same order with the same properties except the questions and answer of choice (if have).

Screen 21: The Ship Reaching The Treasure After Box screen 20 (the last game and the correct answer screen), this screen appears. In
this screen, it shows a ship travelling right to shore, where the treasure box is. It is the same ship used in the level selection and game/maze. This screen of the ship moving to shore will last 5 seconds to indicate that the player has completed the game. Then, the next screen will appear.

Screen 22: Ending


This is the ending. After the ship has reached the shore screen appeared, it will then transition to this screen. Instantly, there will be a sound effect of cheering for 3 seconds. The player then has a choice of playing the game again by choosing "start again" button which leads to screen 2 or just closing the game where the player can either change their level/character or review then play the game once again.
