Subatomic Particles

The document discusses key subatomic particles. Protons combine with electrons and neutrons to form atoms and have a positive charge. Electrons also combine with protons and neutrons to form atoms and have a negative charge. Neutrons make up the nucleus with protons, are similar in size but have no charge. Quarks are even smaller fundamental particles that combine to form protons and neutrons.

The proton is one of more important subatomic particles.

The
protons are combined with electrons and neutrons to form
atoms. The protons have positive electrical charge

The electrons are one of the most important types of subatomic

particles. The electrons are combined with protons and neutrons
to create atoms. The electrons have negative electrical charge.

A neutron is a sub-atomic particle. The nucleus of an atom is

made up of neutrons and protons. Neutrons and protons are
almost exactly the same size. A neutron doesn’t have an
electrical charge.

Quarks, together with the leptons, are the fundamental

components of the matter and the smallest particles than the
man have managed to identify. Many species of quarks are
combined to form particles like protons and neutrons.
