RSL - Radio Signaling Link Disconnected

This alarm occurs when the radio signaling link (RSL) between the BSC and the TRX fails. It causes the TRX to shut down its power amplifier, disrupting ongoing services on that TRX. If the failed TRX is handling the BCCH, it disrupts services for the entire cell. The system will trigger a BCCH switchover if not cleared within two minutes. Possible causes include issues with the CPRI port, transmission between the BTS and BSC, or failures of the RF unit or TRX board.

ALM-28006 Radio Signaling Link Disconnected

Description This alarm is reported when the radio signaling link (RSL) between the BSC and the TRX fails. Parameters Parameter Name Cabinet n Subrack n Slot n Carrier n Impact on the System Alarm Severity Major Alarm Impact The TRX automatically shuts down the power amplifier (PA), and the ongoing services carried on the TRX are disrupted. If the TRX is the BCCH TRX, the ongoing services of the cell holding the TRX are disrupted. Parameter Desciption Cabinet number of the faulty board Subrack number of the faulty board Slot number of the faulty board Faulty carrier number

System Actions If this alarm is generated on the BCCH TRX and if the TRX aiding function is enabled, the BCCH switchover is triggered in the case that this alarm is not cleared within two minutes. Possible Causes

Procedure 1. Check the CPRI port on the M2000. a. Check whether all TRXs on the RF unit report the following alarm on the M2000. 28006 Radio Signaling Link Disconnected Y => All TRXs on the RF unit report the alarm. Go to sub-step b. N => Not all TRXs on the TRX board report the alarm. Go to sub-step d. b.
