Millcreek Elementary, Granite School District Aug. 2012-present Student Teacher Salt Lake City, Utah Teaches 6th grade class of 27 ethnically diverse students, including 7 ELLs, 4 gifted learners, 1 hearing impaired student, and 3 students with special education services. Assessed literacy using DIBELS and progress monitoring, both with running records. Trained to conduct DIBELS and Acuity. Created a program that integrated art, social studies, research, and writing. Full participation was included from the entire 6th grade. Developed and implemented a classroom management economy system, which enables financial responsibility through fun. This also helps the students focus on procedures and prevention, while supporting and helping the students to be self-sufficient. Completed parent-teacher conferences. Successfully integrated dance with social studies through two different units, Middle Ages and found art. Worked directly from the Go Math and Imagine IT! Curriculum books. Longview Elementary School, Murray School District Aug.-Dec. 2011 Next Steps Reading Tutor Murray, Utah Tutored 2nd grade student in reading with comprehension and fluency, helping her move an entire reading level in a semester. Started on a late Kindergarten reading level, ended on end 1st grade level. McMillan Elementary School, Murray School District Jan.-May 2012 Higher Steps Reading Tutor Murray, Utah Tutored 6th grade student to increase the ability to comprehend her reading more. Saw a dramatic in her memory of her reading at the end of the semester, allowing her to test in CRTs successfully. Escalante Elementary, Salt Lake School District Jan.-May 2012 Fine Arts Integration Rose Park, Utah Integrated Math and the fine arts curriculum with a 4th grade class. Helped them review and understand how art can be used for everything, even math. This is a school that is Title I and has a very diverse population in the classroom. Summit Academy High School Aug. 2011-Present Cheerleading Coach Coach, train, and supervised the performance of the cheerleaders during trainings. Oversee safety of cheerleaders and choreographed routines.
