UNGKU OMAR POLYTECHNIC MARINE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

OBJECTIVES
Sea training is very important, as one would need to collect duration of sea time to allow attending certain modular course that will be give permission to further ones diploma. The objectives of sea training are as follows;1. To provide each cadet (student) with meaningful learning experience by blending work experience with formal education. 2. To promote an environment where prepared to meet the changing demands of work and society upon graduation. 3. To develop a strong relationship between employers by making available students who can fulfill their employment requirement, in return employers provide their expertise and support to the educational process. 4. To exchange culture knowledge and partied after working hours with foreigner due to the lack of Malaysian engineers. 5. To work directly under the engineers on board, this will give one of first hand view of the knowledge to be required in the near future. 6. To improve him in the discipline, initiatives, tidiness, care of ship property and sense of responsibility and duty. 7. To place a high priority on learning from experience, this means preventive thinking and ability to improve.
