GRAPH TYPE SINGLE LINE GRAPH

HOW TO START THE GRAPH DESCRIBES/SHOWS/REVEALS (WHAT,WHO, WHEN,WHERE) IT CAN BE CLEARLY SEEN THAT

VOCABULARY ALL YOU CAN SAY IS THAT IT EITHER RISES (INCREASES, CLIMBS, GOES UP) FALLS (DECREASES, DECLINES, DROPS, GOES DOWN) DOESNT CHANGE (REMAINS AT THE SAME LEVEL, MAINTAINS STABILITY. THE HIGHEST POINT OF A GRAPH IS A PEAK AND THE LOWEST IS THE BOTTOM. THE SPEED CAN BE EXPRESSED BY SAYING HOW FAST (RAPIDLY, QUICKLY), HOW SLOWLY (GRADUALLY, STEADILY) IT HAPPENED. AND THE ORDER OF CHANGES, A RISE WAS PRECEDED BY DROP AND FOLLOWED BY DECLINE. THE SAME AS FOR SINGLE LINE GRAPH DESCRIPTION.

HOW TO DESCRIBE TRENDS DONT JUST WRITE WENT FROM 100 IN 1999 TO 255 IN 2001. WRITE INCREASED BY 155 OR HAD RISEN TO 255.

DOUBLE LINE GRAPH

THE GRAPH COMPARES (WHAT,WHO, WHEN,WHERE) IT CAN BE CLEARLY SEEN THAT

IN THE BODY DESCRIBE THE FIRST GRAPH IN THE FIRST PARAGRAPH. THEN IN THE NEXT ONE, GRAPHS THAT ARE SIMILAR OR DIFFERENT. YOU SHOULD ALSO COMPARE THE PEAKS AND BOTTOMS OF THE GRAPHS. IF THE AXIS OF THE GRAPH IS A TIME SCALE, DESCRIBE HOW GRAPHS SUBJECT CHANGES IN TIME. OTHERWISE COMPARE THEBARS DIFFERENTLY IN ORDER OF APPEAREANCE.

THE VOCABULARY IS THE SAME AS FOR ALL PREVIOUS FIGURES. IN CASE THE TIME IS NOT MENTIONED, ASSUME IT IS PRESENT. EXPLAIN THE SEQUENCE OF STAGES / ACTIONS AND USE WORDS LIKE: FIRSTLY (SECONDLY, THIRDLY), TO BEGIN WITH, THEN, AFTER THAT, IN ADDITION, OTHERWISE, AT THE SAME TIME, FINALLY.

PROCESS

IT HAS A LOT OF CATEGORIES. YOU MUST LEARN TO GROUP INFORMATION AND DESCRIBE GROUPS OF CATEGORIES RATHER THAN JUST THROWING INFO AWAY. DESCRIBE EVERY STEP OF THE PROCESS ONE BY ONE. CONNECT THE STAGES BY USING LINKING WORDS AND IF THERE ARE STAGES PERFORMED AT THE SAME TIME. THE TASK IS TO DESCRIBE AND NOT CONTRAST. USE SIMPLE PASSIVE.
