Roles

A system analyst investigates a system's operations to change or improve it based on new requirements. As a key person, the analyst identifies opportunities, designs information systems, and implements solutions. In the systems development life cycle, the analyst's roles include problem identification, determining requirements, designing the system, testing, documentation, and implementation. Primary roles are as a consultant, supporting expert, and agent of change across strategic, knowledge, and operational organizational levels. Other important roles include developing wireless networks, intelligent agents, interacting with customers, and acting as a liaison between vendors and IT management.
