The Theatre of Imagination

Similar to Storytelling. A style of theatre in which actors do not memorized their lines. A theatre of imagination. A controlled way of doing drama.

Actors go through their blocking holding scripts and reading their lines. Actors sit/stand on stage and read through the script together. Actors use vocal expression rather than visual storytelling.

Holding Readers Theatre

Look for stories that are simple and lively; Lots of dialog or action; and With not too many scenes or characters.

Reading and rereading the script is one of the unintentional way of memorizing the lines.

Assign parts and simply have the students stand in a straight line at the front of the room, parts in hand to read when it is their time.
