1-There are a variety of organisms on our planet.

2- Some extremely large, such as the blue whale,where as some are so tiny that they cannot be seen with the naked eye.

3- Extremely small organisms such as those shown above can only be seen and photographed with the help of an instrument called microscope. 4-Organisms that are visible only through a microscope are called microorganisms(micro means very small)or microbes.

Types of microorganisms
1- Microorganisms are the most abundant

our planet. 2- They are found in everywhere in ice cold regions, hot springs and deserts, and even inside the bodies of animals and human beings. 3- Some live alone,while others grow in groups called colonies. 4- Microorganisms can be divided into the following five major groups: (a) Bacteria (b) Protozoa (c) Fungi (d) Algae (e) Viruses.

1- Protozoa are a group of animal like, single-celled organisms. Amoeba Paramoecium Euglena

FUNGI. 1- Fungi are a group of diverse organisms that lack chlorophyll and feed on decaying matter. 2- Yeast and moulds are examples of microscopic fungi. ALGAE 1- Algae are a group of simple plants. 2- Examples are Chlorella, Chlamydomonas and Diatoms ,.

1- They are so small that cannot are seen using ordinary light microscopes and are usually studied with the help of electron microscopes. 2- Viruses are hard to classify as living or non- living as, on their reproduce inside the cells of organisms such as plants , animals, and bacteria . 4- Tobacco mosaic virus and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) are axamples of viruses. 5- The widely feared avain flu and swine flu are also caused by viruses.
