CIRCULAR
Consequent to the merger of AUTs with Anna University, Chennai, the

followinginstructions shall be adopted in connection with Ph.D./M.S. (By Research) programme. Research Centre recognition approved by erstwhile AUTs shall be accepted as Research Centres of Anna University, Chennai till their period of recognition. However, if they wish to extend their recognition beyond the approved time, they shall apply for renewal in the prescribed format available in the website www.annauniv.edu/researchon fulfilling the norms for continuing as research centre. Centre for Research, Anna University will pay Rs.500/- per scholar for every semester till the submission of their synopsis to the department where the supervisor is employed. Such Department shall be a recognized research Centre of Anna University / AUTs. The college can make suitable claim every semester during February/Augustfor those scholars who are pursuing research in the various Departments of their College. Hence,the Principals of affiliated Colleges are instructed not to collect any fees towards research from the research scholars.

Supervisors already recognized by erstwhile AUTs shall guide the scholars currently registered under their supervision. From January 2013 onwards, further scholars shall be permitted to register under their guidance subjected to the approval of supervisor recognition obtained from AnnaUniversity, Chennai.
