KERNEL UPGRADE

Before going to upgrade Kernel, check the current version through the following command: disp+work

Current Kernel patch is 117

We have to download latest patch from the following path

SAP Marketplace Software Downloads Support Packages and Patches Additional Components SAP Kernel SAP KERNEL 64-BIT UNICODE SAP KERNEL 7.01 64BIT UNICODE

After that choose SAP KERNEL, download file depends on your server. Database independent and database dependent files should be required to download.

Database independent file

Oracle file ( Database Dependent file)

After downloading Kernel files

After completing downloaded, stop the SAP server and SAP OS collector. Before stopping, check anyone using server else stop the server using following command stopsap all, saposcol s.

After stopping the server, move the downloaded files into /sapmnt/<SID> And then have to take current kernel backup so rename like exe oldkernel newKernel_<SID> exe.

After taking backup, uncar the downloaded files as follow, SAPCAR xvf SAPEXE_137-10005984.SAR SAPCAR xvf SAPEXEDB_137-10005987.SAR.

Start the both SAP and OS Collector by using the following command saposcol s startsap all

Now kernel patch was upgraded successfully. Check with disp+work. Patch has been upgraded from 117 to 137.
