Module 5 CH 1

Civil 3D parcels allow engineers to dynamically create, edit, and manage legal land divisions in a civil engineering project. The document outlines steps to create parcels from existing boundary lines: 1) Draw land boundaries and subdivisions using lines, arcs, etc, 2) Select "Create Parcel from Objects" from the Parcels menu, 3) Select the drawn boundaries and create parcels, 4) The boundaries will be subdivided into new parcels with updated labels for areas, bearings, and distances.

Module 5 PARCELS

This content is developed by M-CAD TRAINER www.m-cadtrainer.com A Boost to E-Learning

Chapter 1: - Creating Parcels

Any civil 3D projects often involve the division of large pieces of land into smaller properties. Youre often required to show the boundaries of your site and the adjoining sites. You can use the AutoCAD entities, such as lines and arcs, to represent the lot boundaries and then create a closed area to assist in determining the parcel area. You could also create static text labels for area, bearing, and distance. Civil 3D parcels give you a dynamic way to create, edit, and manage these legal land divisions. If you edit a parcel segment to make a lot larger, all of the affected labels will updateincluding areas, bearings, distances, curve information, and table information. Now, well learn how to create parcels in AutoCAD Civil 3D which is explained with the help of a small exercise. 1. First of all, create a surface by following the steps as explained in the previous Module as shown: -

2. From the Home Tab, under Draw Panel, draw any land boundary by using line, circle, arc, etc. 3. Also you can subdivide that boundary as shown: -

4. Now, to create parcels in the project, from the Home Tab, in the drop down menu of Parcels select Create Parcel from Objects

5. Now select the boundaries which you had drawn in Step 3 and press enter. 6. A Create Parcels from Objects window will appear and press OK.

7. On pressing OK, you can see that all the boundaries will be subdivided into properties as shown below: -

This is how you can easily Create the parcel by following some simple steps.
