Les Miserables is written by Victor Hugo on 1862. The theatrical film centers on the experiences and social conditions in which the author, know well. It portrays the effect of oppressive French law and society in which the ex-offenders were never allowed to redeem themselves, whether the offense was criminal or social. It shows how this oppression kindled the flames of social revolution, but also offers a spark of hope in overcoming such oppression through virtuous living. It is a musical story with a linear and entangled plot, of the heroic life of a simple and moral man in the person of Jean Valjean. He is a very memorable character who is virtuously rectitude but guilty of certain thefts for which he feels remorse. Valjean's mistake secures his realness, but his good deeds make him a hero. Valjean's character is based on the life of Eugne Franois Vidocq, an ex-convict who became a successful businessman widely noted for his social engagement and philanthropy Les Miserables is a very beautiful and inspiring musical novel packed with a splash of a bit excitement and adventure as you think about what would happen to the characters as they imperial into new frontiers. It talks about mans hurdle to escape the past and uphold his humanity in a society wherein poverty and ignorance prevails. It conveys the barbarous treatment of the convicts and ex-convicts. This melodramatic novel teaches us many things. Whatever our crime is we cannot escape our conscience. It also open our eyes about the reality in our society that there are lots of injustices and discriminations that is happening.. It also tells us not to judge the book by its cover. We should not let any judgement pass over anybody because that person might have a golden heart hidden in him inside. And that in life there is errors when we come by it we should learn and take lesson on our way. We should also put in mind that if there is life, there is hope whatever happens.
