Syllabus

This course is an elective graduate course on Statistical Learning Theory taught in the fall term. The 3 credit course has no lab component and has prerequisites of Probability and Statistics and Signals and Systems. It will cover various statistical machine learning algorithms and approaches like maximum likelihood estimation, Bayesian methods, decision theory, non-parametric methods, expectation maximization, graphical models, regression, linear classifiers, kernel classifiers, model selection, nearest neighbors, trees and boosting over 15 weeks.
