An Example Project: 16-Story Residential Tower in Coral Gables

This project is 16-story residential building located at Douglas Entrance and Jefferson Street in Coral Gables. The geotechnical report (August 1999) located the ground water at a depth of 7 feet below the ground surface. The borings are shown on the next slide. The report recommended either (1) shallow foundations upon the Miami Formation limestone with an allowable bearing capacity of 6 ksf, or (2) deep foundations using 14 or 16 diameter auger-cast piles.
