Writing Exercise Day #2
FADE IN. EXT. HOUSE - NIGHT A half-lit moon shines above a two-story, 19th century suburban home. Except for the sound of crickets and the highway, it is silent. Facing the house in a silhouette of darkness is ADAM (15). Its hard to make out the details of his face, but it has been worn out by years of despair. He closes his eyes, and breathes in. BLACK ADAM (V.O.) Just a little bit longer now. SERIES OF SHOTS --Adam and a Girl hold hands, tightly. --She smiles at the camera. --They kiss gently with nervousness and grace. EXT. HOUSE - NIGHT Adam breathes out. ADAM (V.O.) A little bit longer now and well be free. A beat of silence. A loud crash from inside the house. Beat. A light turns on. While unseen, people quickly start to move about the house. An older man yells. A younger girl screams. Another crash. More yelling, more screaming, and now, intense sobbing --begging and bargaining. Adam looks straight on with no expression, but a tear has made its way down his cheek. He turns and runs off. As he runs off, more of the environment is revealed. While a suburban neighborhood, it surrounded by a large fence, with a watch tower shining a large beam of light around its edges. They are all trapped in.
