From Station 2 To Station 3,: Data Analysis Average of Bearing

This document summarizes the results of a surveying field work including: 1) The average bearings between stations. 2) A bearing misclosure of 40" which is acceptable for a second class traverse. 3) Calculations of latitude and departure at each station using trigonometric formulas. 4) Corrections made to the latitudes and departures, and using Bowditch rules to correct for precision.

DATA ANALYSIS Average of bearing: From Station 2 to Station 3, Average of Bearing = = 3121610 From Station 3 to Station 4, Average of Bearing

= = 841230 From Station 4 to Station 1, Average of Bearing = =1385900 From Station 1 to Station 2, Average of Bearing = =2743840 Correction of Bearing: Bearing from line 1-2 True bearing from line 1-2 Bearing misclosure : 2743855 : 2743815 : 40

In second class traverse, it is stated that the bearing misclosure cannot exceed 2 30. In this case, the bearing misclosure is 40, therefore this traverse field work is acceptable. Correction :
40 4

= 10 per station

After adjusting all the bearing values, the calculations for latitude, departure, two times latitude and departure and two times latitude x departure and two time departure x latitude were made.

To Calculate the latitude and Departure: Latitude = Distance (cos ) Departure = Distance (sin )
From Station 1 to Station 2,

Latitude

= 39.977(cos 2743800)
= +3.229

Departure

= 39.977(sin 2743800) = -39.846

From Station 2 to Statio 3,

Latitude

= 39.915 (cos 3121600)

= +26.846

Departure

= 39.915 (sin 3121600) = -29.538

From Station 2 to Station 3,

Latitude

= 39.915 (cos 3121600)

= +26.846

Departure

= 39.915 (sin 3121600) = -29.538

From Station 2 to Statio 3,

Latitude

= 39.913 (cos 841210)

= +4.032

Departure

= 39.913 (sin 841210) = +39.709

From Station 2 to Statio 3, Latitude = 45.200(cos 1385830)

= -34.100 Departure = 45.200(sin 1385830) = +29.669

To Correct the Latitude and Departure: Correction for latitude = Correction for latitude =

To Get Precision: From the table, corrections for latitude and departure were also done by using Bowditch Rule. = = = = = = = = ** This ratio is acceptable as it is > 1: 4000 Total Area: Total distances of the bearing lines Total positive and negative latitudes Total positive and negative departures
