Charge Pump Bat Charger 1

This document describes a voltage doubler circuit designed to charge a 4-cell NiMH battery from a +5V power source. The circuit uses a 100kHz oscillator and 74HC14 logic chips to step up the +5V input voltage and deliver it to the battery through diodes and capacitors laid out on a single sheet of paper. It was designed by Dave Johnson to charge batteries from a low voltage supply.
