Puppet Show-Click, Clack, Moo, Cows That Type Reflection


Puppet Show INTASC and NAEYC Standard: NAEYC Standard 4. Using Developmentally Effective Approaches to Connect with Children and Families Students prepared in early childhood degree programs understand that teaching and learning with young children is a complex enterprise, and its details vary depending on childrens ages, characteristics, and the settings within which teaching and learning occur. They understand and use positive relationships and supportive interactions as the foundation for their work with young children and families. Students know, understand, and use a wide array of developmentally appropriate approaches, instructional strategies, and tools to connect with children and families and positively influence each childs development and learning. Key elements of standard 4b: Knowing and understanding effective strategies and tools for early education InTASC Principle 4: Learning styles/diversity The teacher understands how students differ in their approaches to learning and creates instructional opportunities that are adapted to diverse learners. Puppet Show implemented in the preprimary semester in art classroom.

Process: The first part of the process to make a puppet show was to select quality book to perform. Next, we all divided up all the responsibilities in preparation for the puppet show. We then practiced the script with moving the puppets. We performed a puppet show for our art class.

Rationale: This artifact relates to NAEYC Standard 4. Using Developmentally Effective Approaches to Connect with Children and Families because puppet shows are an effective approach to connect with children. Reflection: I learned that a puppet show can be a powerful strategy to teaching. The puppet show approach engages the children and become more receptive to learning. This artifact gave

me the experience and knowledge to perform puppet shows in the classroom. I also learned that puppet dont have to be a one teacher show. The puppet shows that were performed worked better with utilizing other actors. The other performers can be other peer teachers or children in the classroom.
