What Is Body Language

Body language is a form of non-verbal communication that conveys messages through facial expressions, gestures, eye movements, and postures. It plays an important role in presentations, as audiences focus more on a presenter's body language than their words. Positive body language, like maintaining eye contact and displaying confidence, helps presenters appear knowledgeable about their topic. In contrast, negative body language undermines a presenter's message by revealing discomfort, unhappiness, or boredom through behaviors such as failing to make eye contact, facing away from the audience, or exhibiting nervous mannerisms that conflict with their speech.
