Baltimore police homicide detectives have arrested Sherrell Ferguson for her alleged involvement in the 2009 murder of 26-year-old Eric Pendergrass. Pendergrass' body was found wrapped in a blanket in the water near W. Patapsco Avenue in February 2009, and was determined to have died of asphyxiation. Ferguson has been charged with first and second degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, assault, extortion, kidnapping, and false imprisonment. Two other suspects, Darryl Nichols and Donta Vaughn, have also been identified and face related charges. Homicide Detectives Make Arrest in 2009 Murder
September 26, 2012 / Baltimore, MD- Baltimore Police Homicide Detectives announced the arrest of Sherrell Ferguson for her alleged involvement in the 2009 murder of 26 year old Eric Pendergrass. On February 9, 2009, police officers responded to the 200 block of W. Patapsco Avenue for a reported body in the water. Rescue units responded and removed a male wrapped in a blanket from the water. The victim, later identified as Eric Pendergrass, was pronounced on scene. The death of Mr. Pendergrass was determined to be homicide by asphyxiation. Sherrell Ferguson has been formally charged with 1st and 2nd degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, 1st and 2nd degree assault, extortion, kidnapping, and false imprisonment. Two other suspects, 37 year old Darryl Nichols and 36 year old Donta Vaughn were identified and are facing charges related to this murder. Both suspects are federally incarcerated and have federal detainers placed upon them and criminal warrants charging them with the murder of Mr. Pendergrass will be served shortly. This case is an example of the unyielding investigations conducted by members of the Baltimore Police Departments Homicide Section and their dedication to bring justice no matter how the length of the investigation.
