Drawing Solids

The document contains 9 normal problems and 3 special problems involving drawing multi-view projections of various 3D geometric solids such as prisms, pyramids, cones, cubes, and octahedrons. The problems specify attributes of the solids like dimensions, orientations, and angles between the object and projection planes. Learners are tasked with drawing top, front, and side views to represent each 3D solid according to the given information.

ENGINEERING DRAWING
PROJECTION OF SOLIDS Normal problems:
1. Draw the projections of hexagonal prism of base 25mm and axis 60mm long, when it is resting on one of its corners of the base on HP. The axis of the solid is inclined at 450 to HP 2. Draw the projections of an octahedron of side 40mm with one of its face parallel to the HP and side of the base inclined at 200 to the VP. 3. A hexagonal pyramid side of the nbase 25mm long height 70mm has one of its triangular faces perpendicular to the Hp and inclined at 6oo to VP. 4. A hexagonal pyramid base 25mm side axis 55mm long has one of its slant edges on ground a plane containing that edge and the axis is perpendicular to the HP and inclined at 45o to VP. Draw its projections when the apex is nearer to VP than the base. 5. A pentagonal pyramid base 25mm side and axis 50mm long has one of its triangular face in VP and the edge of the base contained by that face makes an angle 30o with HP. Draw its projections 6. A square pyramid base 40 mm side and axis 90mm long has triangular face on ground anf vertical plane containing the axis makes an angle 45o with the VP. Draw its projections. 7. Draw three views of a cone of 50 mm diameter and axis 75mm long having one of its generators in VP and inclined at 30 0 to HP. The apex being in the HP. 8. Draw the projections of a cone base 50mm diameter and axis 75mm long. Lying on a generator on the ground with the top view of the axis making an angle of 45 o with VP. 9. One of the body diagonals of a cube of 45mm edge is parallel to the HP and inclined at 45 o to the VP. Draw the front view and top view of the cube. SPECIAL PROBLEMS: 1. Draw the projections of a cone, base 45mm diameter and axis 50mm long, when it is resting on the ground on a point on its base circle with (a) the axis making an angle of 30 o with the HP and 45o with the VP; (b) the axis making an angle of 30o with HP and its top view making 45o with the HP. 2. Draw the projections of a cube of 25mm long edges resting on the HP on one of its corners with a solid diagonal perpendicular to the VP. 3.
