A Memorable Day Nothing exciting ever happens in SMJK Jit Sin. The Prime Minister decided to visit us.

Now this was certainly exciting as the event would draw a lot of public attention. The first thing that we - principal, teachers and student - did was to panic. The preparations took us a whole month. The band prepared a list of their best tunes, the uniformed groups rehearsed their guard-of-honour, the actors and actresses got together to put up a concert, I - obviously because my talents had not blossomed or had not be fully realized by the powers that be - was assigned to the cleaning squad. My school turned up to be very clean after two weeks of hard work. The day arrived and everyone was bursting with excitement. We clapped and greeted loudly when prime minister stepped out from his car. The welcome ceremony started as planned. The whole event was exciting and from what the prime minister said, ours was an excellent school. The praise from the prime minister himself was worth all the sweat that we went through. Practically everyone had a chance to shake his hand. He spent the whole day with us - even had lunch in the canteen - and left at about 5:00p.m. It was an exciting event indeed: a day that we would remember for the rest of our lives. (227 words)
