ncy - Rural Co-ed We chose this context because in reality the context will be most likely faced by us. Objective of Scheme of work - as a guide for the weeks lesson - to make it easier for the teacher in further planning (either to come up with more materials or to come up more suitable activities) - as a record (for the principles to check or just to be filed in the office) - as a sample or guide for junior teachers Materials and resources Movie clip visualization helps students to understand the context of the language used. Wordlist and guided sentence structure the given wordlist helps both students and teachers to focus on the topics high frequency vocabulary. Newspaper so that the learner could actually associate their learning with the real world. Script script provided by the teacher to make it easier (guided as the learners have little language to actually out with heir own script). Props for role-play to get the students involvement, encourage students to take responsibility on their own learning. Portfolio as a tool of monitoring for the teacher. The students could also refer to their own portfolio to review back their own learning progress and to be used in their revision for the exam. On going assessment We have several assessments for the activities. - Portfolio (to check overall learning) - Note Taking (checking students understanding through listening by asking them to write their friends background) - Essay (checking their ability to exploit given examples to create their own) - Role-play (to check students pronunciation/ speaking fluency) Bibliography Ministry of Education of Malaysia (2003).
