Deodorizing Skunk Spray The following formula is well proven to minimize or eliminate the odor from dogs that have been sprayed by a skunk. Formula for deodorizing a skunk-sprayed pet: 1 cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide 1 tbsp. baking soda and 1/4 tsp. liquid soap. Bathe the affected areas with the mixture. The bath should be followed by a tap water rinse. This mixture will not affect the hair coat. It has been used successfully on Rhodesian Ridgebacks that were sprayed as they were getting in their motor home to go to a dog show. The owner was still willing to travel in the motor home with the dogs immediately after their baths in the skunk spray formula!
